It's a glitch hop mix with a Gershwin touch. From light jazz to harsh noise this is a blog dedicated to all kinds of quality music. Sharing new tunes, reviews and live music experiences as well as the possible addition of my personal work and synchronisation with radio pursuits Gershwin Touch aims to be the go to blog for you grooves and serenades. It is run purely for pleasure (self indulgence?) by myself, Jeremy, a music enthusiast from Melbourne Australia. If you would like to contact my personal blog it is www.drclocktopus.tumblr.com .

Brainfeeder has to be the best record label around at the moment.

Gershwin Touch Reviews: Lorn & Dolor - Drugs

There are a few feelings in ones life one remembers forever. The feeling when you learn to ride your first bike, your first kiss, and the first time you enter a seedy drum’n’bass club. Though the music of preference may have changed from drum’nbass and grime to dubstep and glitch the experience of truly powerful club music has stayed the same. The ritualistic beats free everyone while uniting them with a single thread. The ownership of sweat and space becomes all the more vague and inhibitions disappear further than any drug could induce. Perhaps I spoke a little to soon in the last sentence. Lorn & Dolor’s new EP “Drugs” replicates that feeling almost exactly. The wide atmospheric bass strikes with a powerful warmth accompanied with a snare drum that bounces your body. However this album should not be disregarded as mere club music. The beats adopt interesting timings whilst still maintaining a tangible feel and the slight manipulation of pitch on many of the vocal samples creates a unique lyrical flow. Overall the sound is big and heavy but not at all aggressive. Definitely worth a listen to any fan of electronic music.
